We built a CPA firm we wished hotel owners had.
After years of watching great operators get generic advice from accountants who didn't understand hospitality, we decided to build something better—a firm that speaks hotel fluently.
Cedar Crest CPA was founded on a simple observation: hotel owners are among the most sophisticated small-business operators in the country, yet most are served by accountants who treat a 90-room select-service hotel like a corner retail shop.
The result is predictable—missed cost segregation, sloppy lodging tax, books that can't answer a lender's questions, and tax bills that are bigger than they need to be. We knew hotel owners deserved a partner who already knew the difference between ADR and RevPAR, who understood brand PIPs and franchise reporting, and who could sit across from a lender with confidence.
So we built a firm around exactly that. Today we serve franchise and independent hotel owners across the country—handling the books, the tax strategy, and the big financial decisions so owners can focus on running great properties.
What we believe
- Specialization beats generalization. Depth in one industry serves clients better than shallow coverage of many.
- Tax strategy is a year-round discipline, not an April event.
- Clean, timely, readable financials are a competitive advantage—not a compliance chore.
- Pricing should be transparent and predictable, always.
Hotels, exclusively
We don't split our attention across a hundred industries. Hospitality finance is the whole practice, so our expertise runs deep instead of wide.
Proactive, not reactive
We plan around your acquisitions, renovations, and refinancing all year—so tax season is a formality, not a fire drill.
A real partnership
You get a CPA who knows your properties by name and picks up the phone. We measure success by your NOI, not our billable hours.
Questions owners ask us
Do you only work with franchised hotels?
No—franchised properties are our specialty, but we also serve independent and boutique hotels. The financial and tax mechanics of lodging are what we know cold, franchise flag or not.
I own properties in multiple states. Is that a problem?
It's routine for us. Multi-state income tax, apportionment, and lodging-tax jurisdictions are a core part of what we handle every day.
Can you work with my current management company or PMS?
Yes. We reconcile against whatever PMS you run and coordinate cleanly with third-party management companies and their reporting.
What size portfolio do you work with?
From a single property to portfolios of a dozen-plus hotels. Our reporting scales from one clean P&L to consolidated multi-entity financials.
How do you price your services?
Transparent, flat monthly fees for ongoing accounting, and fixed-scope engagements for one-time work like a books cleanup or property-tax appeal support. No surprise hourly invoices.
How do we get started?
A free discovery call. We'll learn about your properties, flag the biggest opportunities and risks, and send a clear proposal. No pressure and no obligation.
